Migraine headaches are often caused by estrogen dominance in women prior to menstruation. If you have premenstrual migraines, try using progesterone during the ten days before your period. Be alert to the aura that usually precedes these headaches. According to Dr Lee, if one occurs, you can apply a small glob of progesterone cream (20 to 40 mg of progesterone) every three to four hours until your symptoms subside. Only one or two extra applications are usually required.
